Get involved Advisors

Advisors are encouraged to attend VCIC. You are not allowed to assist your team in any way, however, you will have full access to all sessions, including closed–door judging sessions, and you will be able to use that information to give your team feedback as well as to train next year’s team. There will also be opportunities to network with advisors from other schools to discuss your entrepreneurial program and share best practices. Lastly, you will gain valuable insights to help your student leaders run their own internal VCIC.

There are several resources available to advisors on the VCIC website.

We are encouraging your student leaders to run their own internal VCICs. It is our goal to provide them with all the necessary tools to run the event themselves with the least amount of burden on you as possible. That said, many staff and faculty have found that VCIC is a great addition to their suite of entrepreneurial offerings. You might be surprised at how well received this event is by students, entrepreneurs and VCs alike. See How VCIC Works and Run Your Own Internal VCIC for more information.

The pitch to students…

BRING VCIC TO YOUR CAMPUS
A VCIC event on your campus is good for your school, good for your classmates and good for your career. If you are going to be an officer in your Entrepreneurship or Venture Capital Club, there is no better service to your school or your classmates than organizing a VCIC event. You have two choices:

1. Organize Your Own Internal VCIC

  • 10 to 40 of your classmates experience this one-of-a-kind event
  • The best way to select the most competitive team for your school
  • The last five national champions began by winning an internal event

  • If you choose to host a VCIC event, we are here to help. You will not have to reinvent the wheel. We have all the materials necessary and will send you an "Organizer's Manual" along with all digital files to make your job as easy as possible. We will also send a representative to help you run your regional event.
